ALASKA!

Yep. That's where I will be very soon!! No kids, no husband (although I would gladly take him with if he would ever be able to quit working!! ) . All by my lonesome with one of my best friends who lives there. I will fly into Anchorage and promptly leave for Seward, where we will celebrate 4th of July Alaskan style ( can you say tired??? I will have been awake for 30 plus hours by this point of my trip! ). After Seward we will tour and camp Denali and then head to Fairbanks to see her home turf. I will miss my boys so much, but am so so so blessed that I have a family that helps make my travel dreams come TRUE! Pictures to follow when I return. Pray no bears eat me alive! (I seriously have a bear phobia.... I know, WHY am I going to Alaska with this phobia???)

Holy cow! It's been a long time!

Well, let's see. Time flies when you're having fun? ok, I really have no explanation for why I haven't written in 2 months. Been so busy enjoying everyone else's blogs? :)
April was a FANTASTIC month for us. Kris and I got to fly to Vegas BY OURSELVES for 4 days and gamble and sightsee with my grandparents (who are amazingly cool and look somewhat similar to Johnny Cash and June Carter...) and my Aunt and Uncle. It was so so so nice to be able to hang out with my family without chasing kids around or worrying about where they were etc....
We went to 2 shows, ate fantastic dinners, strolled the strip and I won $700 bucks in total off of about $80!!! The big joke was that I won back all of my Grandpa's money he lost. :) We came home for 4 days and were off to Wyoming/Denver for our family vacation to see Kris' family. The boys had a great time seeing their grandparents since they only really see them 2 times a year if that. We made it down to the Denver Zoo one of the days (Riley's first time) where we met up with their cousins. Interesting enough, most of the animals smelled like literal crap and were sleeping inside their habitats. So we basically saw a bunch of birds and a random peacock that roamed the zoo. :)
Our plan was to make it up through Jackson Hole and Yellowstone and stay in Bozeman for a night as well, but this is Montana. Not only is it Montana, it's Montana in April. We woke up to a blizzard in Wyoming and tons of snow through Jackson Hole with most of the roads we wanted into Yellowstone still closed for the season.... So we headed straight up for Billings, stayed overnight and ate at Texas Roadhouse and got home a day early. All in all it was a good getaway---
Now we are on to May. Kris and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary and we are now counting down the days until school is over. Looking forward to all of our flower planting and garden tending-to this summer for sure! Happy Summer friends!

Letter to the Tooth Fairy

Caed's letter to the tooth fairy the other day:

"Dear Tooth Fairy,
I lost my tooth in a bike accident. Please come to my house, and I lost my tooth in the street and now I can't find it.
Signed,
Caed Melone"

So hilarious!

10 in Tuesday

1. This might be my first ever 10 on Tuesday? Not sure, but I like the idea of it because I am a pretty pathetic and lazy blogger :)

2. I am typing this from a new 21 inch MAC! It's pretty much amazing and bigger than most TV's.

3. Got our taxes done today and was oh so surprised and blessed!

4. Remember how I was suppose to get my tonsils out on Janurary 11th? Well, I freaked out due to all the horror stories everyone was telling me and decided to go to a naturalpath Dr. to see her opinion on the whole matter. Turns out I am allergic to dairy ( A LOT) and it was creating drainage in my throat and a perfect environment for strep to live and never die. We'll see if it works but I am 2 months without strep which is a long time for me!

5. Being allergic to dairy sucks, might I add. I did sneak a piece of cheese the other day though and my face is now broken out and red. Totally not worth one little piece of processed grossness.

6. Star Trek the movie is very enjoyable, much to my surprise

7. I get to go to Alaska all by myself this summer to visit my friend and explore! Yay for cool husbands who let their wives LIVE!

8. We are currently painting AGAIN. Why do we always buy houses that need every single room painted??? Blech

9. I recently invested in a label maker and now have the strong desire to label every surface and/or item in my home. Including my children

10. I am learning to relax and not stress (because for some reason the world will not function properly if I do not control it?) So, I have started reading at night again. I love it. I've already finished 4 huge books in 2 months.

Happy Wed! I just figured out that it wasn't Tuesday! haha

How to end up in the ER on Christmas Day

For Christmas Santa brought a Wii to the family. "What fun!" you might say to yourself. Well, it is fun- but only if you are someone other than my husband and his best friend who play games like their lives are on the line. The most competitive friends ever.
So when they started playing Wii tennis together no one thought anything of the high intensity swinging and yelling that was going on. Until we heard a huge "CRACK!" against the basement wall and proceed to look down at Kris practically knocked out on the floor with Geoff over him saying, "Dude! Dude! Are you ok?? Oh crap. Hold still, there's blood...."
Yes, I said blood. I looked down and a bright red stream of gooey blood was leaking down Kris' neck and beard. If you know Kris, you know he loves and is known for his manly beard. Well, off came the beard to see the severity of the cut. Then, off went to the two best friends to get stitches in the ER.
The moral of the story is this: If you swing the wii tennis racket really, really hard it will fly off the controller and slice your friends face. You will then proceed to spend 3 hours in the ER on Christmas Day laughing together and having fun while you get stitched up. Memories, sweet memories. :)

New Year's Eve fun!

We spent New Year's Eve with our awesome friends. A low key night that consisted of Howard's pizza, the Wii, and the infamous Mullet Wig! Here's to 2010!
